Aliosa Tran Phan Graphic Artist & Illustrator
Communication is one of the most important factors that contributes to the development of my illustration styles. Instead of having a fixed style for every book, I would like to carefully study the message, theme and inspiration of a story before deciding what style should be used to illustrate it. To be able to do that, I have fully mastered various types of techniques such as watercolor, oil crayons, colored pencils and other types of modern techniques. These styles were honed as an art student, majoring in Art Education at university. Therefore, my illustration is not an image that duplicates a text – it is a visual language that communicates with the text and compliments it. Beneath you can see some of my latest greeting card designs to accompany the Love Lilly Series to compliment the book written by Susan Jill Ream, Lilly's Colorful Spots. I am currently working on her 2018 Christmas book, entitled, Lilly's Colorful Lights.
